CBCA Administrators Completes SAS 70 Type II Audit, Achieves Highest Level of Certification for Key Business Operations

CBCA’s Claims Processing centers in Minneapolis and Savannah meet stringent auditing standards by successfully demonstrating effective control policies and activities.

FT. WORTH, TX., January 18, 2005…CBCA Administrators, a leading third-party health benefits administrator, today announced both its Minneapolis and Savannah Claims Processing centers have successfully completed the SAS 70 Type II audit and achieved certification. The SAS 70 audit was conducted by Wolcott & Associates, Inc., a national consulting firm, and covered CBCA’s claims processing, technology infrastructure, and security measures as well as other key areas of its business operations.

The Statement of Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants to measure the reliability of a service organization’s internal processes and controls. SAS 70 validation is widely valued because it signals that the organization has been through a rigorous, in-depth audit of its control activities by an independent accounting and auditing firm. By undergoing the SAS 70 Type II audit, an organization can provide its customers and others with a comprehensive audit report that discloses the controls and processes in place along with assurances that the services customers receive are secure and disciplined.

“We’re pleased to have received an ‘unqualified opinion’ from our auditor,” said George D. Pillari, CBCA founder and CEO. “With completion of a SAS 70 Type II audit, the highest level SAS 70 validation, we can assure our customers of the quality and security controls built into our transaction processing, the stability and strength of our operating environment, and the reliability of our reporting.”
